Health Institute of Palliative and Hospice Care
The mobile hospice PAHOP was founded because of the experiences of the director, Mgr. Helena Schwarczová, when she suffered oncological disease in April of 2016. The main mission of the hospice is to give palliative care to the terminally ill and to assist with their needs to ensure that they are able to stay in their own homes, close to their loved ones.
The patient is cared for by a multiskilled team consisting of doctors, nurses, social workers, caregivers, a psychologist and, at the patient's request even a priest. Services are provided 24/7, including public holidays.
The hospice also provides social service transport service, which is provided 7 days a week, including holidays from 6 am to 8 pm. Ever since the hospice was founded, it has focused on providing care for people through their most vulnerable moment of life, allowing them to stay in familiar comfortable environment.
PAHOP operates in the Uherské Hradiště, Uherské Brod, Zlín and parts of the South Moravian Region. The organization currently has 37 employees. As there is unfortunately a growing demand for their care, they have newly opened a branch in Zlín – Malenovice in March this year. As the only organization in our region, they were commissioned to build a residential facility, a hospice building, which has not been available in our region until now.
